Inherited IP Spam Problem

I’ve recently changed my hosting provider. I’ve been hosting my primary e-mail on my own machine for the last decade or so. The recent move was to a very nice provider. (I can directly call the data center on the landline)

However, it would appear they gave me an IP that was previously used by a spammer. I’m not on the standard dnsbl lists like spamhaus, but it seems a few of the bigger providers have my new IP on their private blacklists. I’ve contacted a few of them. Problem is, I don’t know that I“m blocked until I send an e-mail to an account that’s hosted by one of these providers. Even worse,”intelligent" spam filters that don’t bounce e-mails may silently drop my messages. Let’s see how this develops…
